so Im currently learning options trading
Using Robinhood?
but from I can tell Volatility is high
Yes lol
options are expensive for high volume stocks
I use Fidelity
Lots of people sitting out
also difference bid prices and ask prices are high
@Smoke have you done any options trading?
No just normal stock contracts a year plus ago. I’ve looked into options recently tho, seems simple enough. I made quite a bit of money and lost it all like a reckless junkie and had to take a break
<:ahem:639979147782914084>
ok lets do this together then
I think it would be no bids? Just buy in the moment. You can do puts to short or calls to long
Am I missing anything
Yeah I was checking out Robinhood but the app seems unstable recently
I head they were having problems, many people lost money from what I heard
Ya the app went down for a couple days during the crash lol
It seems super difficult to time market right now. Very news dependent. Stimulus news would cause pump, corona news a dump. I expect we go down in the mid term
Just as wuflu ramps up
so we can expect some kind of volatility going into sept
I know some people trade the news, but not sure how
especially with premiums and bid ask spreads being high
I would almost expect market to recover by then. Election years are typically stronger market i guess
I think once we see the silver lining in supply/ infections, it’s gonna pump hard
I try and trade on mid-long term trends and sentiment
News can be too micro
I’ll need to get familiar with options more tho
have any resources that you could recommend on options
Not really. I just read a couple articles on using Robinhood and it’s pretty simple. I think they give you less to make it user friendly. I’m not familiar with premiums or bids even with Robinhood so you probably know more than I do
I’m decent TA tho. Spent a lot of time learning and paying to learn. Tho that seems to be a minimal part with current market
ahh ok
I guess my plan is to look into fidelity vs Robinhood or anything else. I’m wanting to wait until Trump announces his stimulus tho. That is probably in a week or so
Lots of traders sitting out tho so I’m not in a hurry to jump in
I think in the mean time it would be prudent to read/watch as much as possible
on options
Yeah, I’ll do that, and get setup on some platform
I heard thinkorswim with td ameritrade is good
people seem to be using that
Im using active trader pro from fidelity because I have an account with them
I swore I saw this channel as "fiancee"
