Yes but it’s certainly helpful to have someone experienced walk you through it first couple times
DBT is for sub human BPD folk ... not something for neurotypicals to practice 🤷
Yeah that’s the whole point of different perspective
Like I was afraid to read my peer reviews from work so I read tbem with my psych
Turns out they were 99% glowing
Lot of ADD kids are still recovering from addiction thanks to hard drugs perscribed to them when they were kids. Basically, take everything doctors say to you with a grain of salt, since they're out to make money. Experiment and find what works for you.
But in my mind I will hyperfocus in the 1% that’s not perfect
Wish the law wouldn't get in the way of that.
I don’t think Adderall is a hard drug
If you get addicted it’s because you abused your medication
@Life-affirming Meow I don't really understand the differences between them
yes but you're an adderall addict
your opinion doesn't count
it seems to just be for more severe mental illness
Adderall is like credit. You can use it wisely or go crazy and fuck your life up
I’m not an addict I take less than half the max dose and could ask ask my dr for more at any time
I actually asked to lower my dosage
grammar
whew
i actually asked my dealer to rip me off for less
Isn't DBT all about regulating your emotions while ACT is about focusing on your goals + values despite any emotions/thoughts/urges that might pop up @Nerthulas?
I still mean what I tried to say
lol
I don’t know for sure what act is
yeah DBT is more focused on emotion regulation I don't have much exposure to ACT
just stop being shitty
ACT differs from traditional cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in that rather than trying to teach people to better control their thoughts, feelings, sensations, memories and other private events, ACT teaches them to "just notice," accept, and embrace their private events, especially previously unwanted ones. ACT helps the individual get in contact with a transcendent sense of self known as "self-as-context"
@fuguer For kids, it's absolutely a hard drug. Especially if they don't actually have ADHD.
I don’t really have problem with accepting my thoughts
Well sure if you take a medication for a problem you don’t have that’s not ideal
just accept you are shit
But for young kids, addies aren't good.
Even for ADHD
Just accept jews are genociding your race and culture
I've done that for years
most successful people do some sort of CBT just not 'CBT (tm)'
took me like 10 years to get it right
Wtf is CBT?
I mean, therapy
it's deciding to do things right
