Yes but it’s certainly helpful to have someone experienced walk you through it first couple times

2020-02-21 15:17:43 UTC

DBT is for sub human BPD folk ... not something for neurotypicals to practice 🤷

2020-02-21 15:17:46 UTC

Yeah that’s the whole point of different perspective

2020-02-21 15:18:01 UTC

Like I was afraid to read my peer reviews from work so I read tbem with my psych

2020-02-21 15:18:08 UTC

Turns out they were 99% glowing

2020-02-21 15:18:24 UTC

Lot of ADD kids are still recovering from addiction thanks to hard drugs perscribed to them when they were kids. Basically, take everything doctors say to you with a grain of salt, since they're out to make money. Experiment and find what works for you.

2020-02-21 15:18:26 UTC

But in my mind I will hyperfocus in the 1% that’s not perfect

2020-02-21 15:18:35 UTC

Wish the law wouldn't get in the way of that.

2020-02-21 15:18:50 UTC

I don’t think Adderall is a hard drug

2020-02-21 15:19:03 UTC

If you get addicted it’s because you abused your medication

2020-02-21 15:19:05 UTC

@Life-affirming Meow I don't really understand the differences between them

2020-02-21 15:19:09 UTC

yes but you're an adderall addict

2020-02-21 15:19:15 UTC

your opinion doesn't count

2020-02-21 15:19:26 UTC

it seems to just be for more severe mental illness

2020-02-21 15:19:27 UTC

Adderall is like credit. You can use it wisely or go crazy and fuck your life up

2020-02-21 15:19:45 UTC

I’m not an addict I take less than half the max dose and could ask ask my dr for more at any time

2020-02-21 15:19:52 UTC

I actually asked to lower my dosage

2020-02-21 15:20:03 UTC

grammar

2020-02-21 15:20:07 UTC

whew

2020-02-21 15:20:13 UTC

i actually asked my dealer to rip me off for less

2020-02-21 15:20:30 UTC

Isn't DBT all about regulating your emotions while ACT is about focusing on your goals + values despite any emotions/thoughts/urges that might pop up @Nerthulas?

2020-02-21 15:20:47 UTC

I still mean what I tried to say

2020-02-21 15:20:48 UTC

lol

2020-02-21 15:20:56 UTC

I don’t know for sure what act is

2020-02-21 15:20:58 UTC

yeah DBT is more focused on emotion regulation I don't have much exposure to ACT

2020-02-21 15:21:05 UTC

just stop being shitty

2020-02-21 15:21:43 UTC

ACT differs from traditional cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in that rather than trying to teach people to better control their thoughts, feelings, sensations, memories and other private events, ACT teaches them to "just notice," accept, and embrace their private events, especially previously unwanted ones. ACT helps the individual get in contact with a transcendent sense of self known as "self-as-context"

2020-02-21 15:21:50 UTC

@fuguer For kids, it's absolutely a hard drug. Especially if they don't actually have ADHD.

2020-02-21 15:21:55 UTC

I don’t really have problem with accepting my thoughts

2020-02-21 15:22:22 UTC

Well sure if you take a medication for a problem you don’t have that’s not ideal

2020-02-21 15:22:33 UTC

just accept you are shit

2020-02-21 15:22:40 UTC

@Banjod you probably practice some CBT yourself

2020-02-21 15:22:42 UTC

But for young kids, addies aren't good.

2020-02-21 15:22:46 UTC

Even for ADHD

2020-02-21 15:22:51 UTC

Just accept jews are genociding your race and culture

2020-02-21 15:22:56 UTC

I've done that for years

2020-02-21 15:23:03 UTC

most successful people do some sort of CBT just not 'CBT (tm)'

2020-02-21 15:23:05 UTC

took me like 10 years to get it right

2020-02-21 15:24:29 UTC

Wtf is CBT?

2020-02-21 15:24:35 UTC

I mean, therapy

2020-02-21 15:24:39 UTC

it's deciding to do things right
