Is a 14 year old more fully developed into their potential adult state than a 3 year old?

2020-02-28 02:12:55 UTC

Yes?

2020-02-28 02:12:56 UTC

@randomNPCno3 Race isn't "painting with a broad brush" AT ALL. populations cluster along traditional definitions of races no mater where you draw the lines genetically. This is a fact.

2020-02-28 02:13:03 UTC

That doesn't make IQ not real?

2020-02-28 02:13:45 UTC

If a 3 year old can't dead lift 400 pounds but both their parents are olympic athletes does that mean they won't have any predisposition towards athleticism?

2020-02-28 02:13:52 UTC

@randomNPCno3 because yunger people develop at differnt rates and their brains are more plastic than as adults. They still have an "IQ ceiling" that is genetically determined.

2020-02-28 02:14:20 UTC

@Tony_Swann I'm not even sure what he's supposedly citing, but you can test people early on and their IQ doesn't drift that much

2020-02-28 02:14:38 UTC

@Catboi true

2020-02-28 02:14:46 UTC

Because in general your not imputing ways of thinking anymore, your operating on how you've learned to think up to that point. If you stop exercising the brain by challenging it

2020-02-28 02:14:46 UTC

If you do the spatial tests, and not the crystalized tests...

2020-02-28 02:15:05 UTC

Less stimulation=less growth

2020-02-28 02:15:17 UTC

That's just not true in the US

2020-02-28 02:15:25 UTC

everyone has the access to the same systems

2020-02-28 02:15:41 UTC

why are poor hispanics now graduating form HS at the same rate as whites?

2020-02-28 02:15:49 UTC

when 15 years ago they had a lower graduation rate than blacks?

2020-02-28 02:16:07 UTC

@randomNPCno3 What does that even mean or refer to? Black kids get less stimulation? And that causes less growth. Total nonsense.

2020-02-28 02:16:27 UTC

<@!593608499926269958> he thinks everything is environmental

2020-02-28 02:16:31 UTC

Everyone has access to the public system, if you differentiate them by economic class those gaps close real quick

2020-02-28 02:16:32 UTC

and there's no such thing as race

2020-02-28 02:16:44 UTC

Yeah, and what differentiates economic class

2020-02-28 02:16:52 UTC

@randomNPCno3 that isn't true.

2020-02-28 02:16:57 UTC

weird you can guess a person's IQ pretty closely by averaging the IQ of their parents

2020-02-28 02:16:57 UTC

Not everything, and I've said that multiple times by now

2020-02-28 02:17:12 UTC

you can guess their height over 70% of the time if you know their parents heights

2020-02-28 02:17:24 UTC

poor people tend to have low IQ this isnt news bro.

2020-02-28 02:17:36 UTC

You can guess their educational attainment based on their parent's educational history...

2020-02-28 02:17:43 UTC

but it's all just _ENVIRONMENT_

2020-02-28 02:18:02 UTC

Yes, those are literally environmental factors

2020-02-28 02:18:17 UTC

Weird how a whole group of people that seems more violent, does more poorly in school, gets lower scores on every metric of success has kids that also mirror those traits

2020-02-28 02:18:31 UTC

Except height

2020-02-28 02:18:37 UTC

IQ isn't environmental

2020-02-28 02:18:40 UTC

that's just false

2020-02-28 02:18:53 UTC

There's plenty of research on this...

2020-02-28 02:19:20 UTC

you cannot increase your IQ outside of the Verbal and Mathematics portions of the test

2020-02-28 02:19:21 UTC

of course "there are environmental factors", but MOST of the difference is in the genetic potential dn no amount of education or environment will change that.

2020-02-28 02:19:28 UTC

and even then it's not "permanent"

2020-02-28 02:20:04 UTC

Even if you want to concede their are envirnonmental factors

2020-02-28 02:20:16 UTC

it really doesn't make sense to me what libertarian lenaing people like him expect us to do

2020-02-28 02:20:23 UTC

so you want us to come into the black community and fix it?

2020-02-28 02:20:35 UTC

even if it's environmental to a total degree

2020-02-28 02:20:38 UTC

what's the difference
