I see good stuff on this thread. For our encouragement: Look up prayer in Greek & Hebrew. It means to petition, or to ask for stuff or favor, especially from an authority. Remember, we are not The Jedi. We do not "feel God" like He was the Force. We ask things of our sovereign God. Those who "Decree and Declare" are not expressing faith, but are behaving as magicians. They practice a form of witchcraft disguised in misused Christian terms. Do not give them money, EVER. They mislead people away from Faith (trust) in Christ for forgiveness, and redirect people to faith in one's own words--as prisoners to positivism (Osteen, Meyers, P White, Jakes, etc). In reality, our Father hears our petitions. He cares about us. If we die, we have nothing to worry about in the afterlife, in the new creation. Tell Him your woes, your desires, and trust Him at His word (Word) that he has forgiven your sins & knows what is best for us, individually. He did not promise to make this world, which is passing away, into a paradise. Still, pray to Him in this current fight against evil. Ask him to give wisdom to our elected officials. Ask Him to protect our President, the cabinet, and the staff from undue influence. Thank Him for the forgiveness He gives us.
