ok, the common reason why usa never went into thorem research officially, is because they couldn't make weapons from it.
i knew i shoulda went into nuclear electrician field instead of sonar tech as career path in navy, i just didn't like the idea the school for it in the artic wasteland instead of sunny san deigo
i basically designed a theoretical phaser based upon thorem
has applications in non military but shows great promise in military applications
i'd have it built already if my family didn't stop destroying my research lab

u need a high melting point material to be the actual plasma particles
then u can cut thru anything
