@Misfit Those three shows are made by either the same studio or the same director. Lain is a mystery and sci-fi that deals with interconnection. Haibane is one that deals with the concept of rebirth. I have not seen Texhnolyze besides the first episode but it seems to deal with dystopia.

I have seen some theorize that Lain reflects life, Haibane reflects heaven or paradise, and Texhnolyze reflects Biblical Hell or torment.
