@Psycho War Pup I loved that documentary
I brought it up as movie night with my ex, and as I pitched it, she immediately bounced back with "but men have all the right already". I just responded with a smile and a "let's just watch and see"
Her attitude took a right turn after the film.
@Psycho War Pup yes. Its very enlightening.
It should be common sense but we live gynocentric society so its overlooked. Feminist propaganda runs deep in Hollywood and the mainstream media so most people seems to think we are a priviliged class
And unfortunately they're practically raised with that belief. Especially nowadays
I truly believe privilege only truly exists in classes in america anyway
It's the only sensible way to use the term
@machoroot You are definitely in the right place if you want to talk about systematic discrimination.
@Psycho War Pup I think most of us have. Not perfect, but a really good intro I think. 🙂
Oh, I nearly forgot to approve you Macho! Welcome!
going good just reading rules
Ahh what brings you here
nothing in particular other than looking to observe discussion just saw a link for this discord in a subreddit and figured i would join.
Ahhh r/mensrights?
yep
Hello, I am Elijah. I am a lurker at r/mensrights and found the link there.
hi welcome @kinyanjuike
Thank you @Indigo
Hi @Cyb3rd3lic what brings you here?
Hi there! Good question. I was a Feminist for a long time and became disillusioned with the approach to dealing with men and men's issues, later Patriarchy theory didn't match up with the world as I saw it...
So, I suppose I'm here because I've wanted to explore the political side of men's issues and activism. After listening to The Honey Badgers for a couple of years I've decided to just dive in and see where the currents take me.
cool!
And now you have the role
So you can talk to us all about it
Cheers! :D
We have quite a few ex-feminists here, so you should find a lot of people to talk to about your experiences. :)
That's good to hear! Because I want to be part of a discussion, it just a sagging off match against feminists. I got to this Discord through Reddit and the groups I've subscribed to a half reasonable and half...vitriol. I'll be glad to take a step away from that and settle into something more comfortable with pushing MRActivism forward. At least, that's what I hope to get from this.
I'm really glad to hear it. :) We're trying to set up as a hub of activism and news, so it's good to hear you want to take part. We're actually just talking about one of our team who was doing interviews at the woman's march yesterday.
BlueOrange by any chance? I am intrigued to see what he (I assume) managed to get. As it is, I am an aspiring journalist and am setting myself up over the next 6 months. If I do manage it I'll be covering the MRA and it's talking points as well as Feminism, but it's a pipe dream until January is over - if it isn't I could help by contributing.
Yeah, he came back with some disturbing quotes we're putting on an article. @blueorange22 @Cyb3rd3lic
Some very callous and un-empathetic people there.
hi @Cyb3rd3lic
yes, that was me
@blueorange22 and hello to you, too! Pleasure to be acquainted. I've seen your name around a few times. It'll be interesting to see what you managed to come up with and how the political movement is shaping your side of the pond.
