Being as I’ve never worn an ankle bracelet not been up close and personal I wouldn’t know how big they are. The ones I have seen on other people looked bigger than a watch

Okay. I’m just sharing what I feel to be the situation behind them. If they are wearing a monitor it is for a long stretch of time. Any chance that the pant leg to cover it up might fail would immediately show what could be going on behind the scenes, hence the use of the boot which would be fail proof to hide the monitor and an injury would validate the length of time wearing the boot to cover it up.
