when ma bell split up, my mom wanted to keep her stock split across the various parts like bell labs and att..but not the land line providers so much

i told her to keep the money in the land lines

she didn't listen....att merged then split with comcast and others ...splintering off her stock on that end a dozen different ways

that sucks

her bell labs stock dropped in value after it was created(att transferred their debt to it) before they were forced to get bought up and reformed into lucent tech

amazing those companies are even still around

att's merger to comcast was to give att access to entertainment platforms, comcast's benefit was to gain access to internet and telcom services

it was never about cell phones

att runs dish-network and direct-tv
