carbon filtering works by dissolving the carbon in the water to bond to the toxins ...the toxins don't stick to the carbon and stay in the filter

and since it dissolves and bonds to the toxins in the water...it's still in the water...u need particle filter after the carbon filters...to catch all the larger particles thanks to the dissolved carbon in the water

particle filter first..then carbon, then particle filter

yet in most water filtration systems...it's particle then carbon...no particle catching filter after the carbon ones

i take apart old brita filters ...cut the top off...and clean out the old carbon and fill it with cotton balls

even dollar store poly balls will work

look at the filter schematic for ur gravity system

need at least particle first, then chemical filtering..then particle filtering to catch any trace particles from the chemical filtering phase

was tempted to go with uv treatment but then i remembered they used uv treatments in the biolab to mutate or activate some strains of viruses

look into electrostatic filtering...it's kinda like an ion air filter but for the water

if it has 2 flow tubes...it's a filter...for filtering 1 flow tube end of 'dirty' water and putting out 'clean' water on other flow tube end
