what's up with people here liking ex-yu rock and pop
i'm an ex-yu citizen myself but i never ever found the appeal in these genres
like they all legit sound the same
even more same than modern pop
(and i hate any pop)
i don't think this music is necessarily bad, it's just that it is so stale and boring that i get bored after two songs
they all sound the same thats the point
except "sameness" in pop music is increasing and it can be proven by digitally compressing lyrics/melodies/rhythms (kind of like in zip files)
and i am noticing a lot more sameness in ex-yu pop and rock (even rock which is kinda sad) than in, say, british or american pop and rock of that era
when synthesizers and drum machines suddenly flocked in during the early 80s when tito died and when foreign trade increased, people kind of started abusing their easiness and instantness compared to drums, bass guitars and electric guitars which were pretty much the only instruments used in 70s yugo punk and rock
