@Nyëa someone else responded that they'd been saved by him years prior, and at one point his visa was under review because he kept showing up in police reports for brandishing swords. He made a heartfelt plea that he lost his eye because of a lathe accident, and there's not much work for a one-eyed machinist but he still wants to help the community. About a DOZEN people showed up to testify that he'd saved them from sketchy situations, including one girl who was convinced she'd have been raped and then murdered had he not intervened.
