Does a screen make it easier? Thinking of getting something with a screen just because I don't want to carry around a tablet and laptop constantly

I have a cintiq that I cant use right now because my laptop is a brick. The screen makes it MUCH easier, but not quite as simple as pen and paper. The price tag also is crazy high, so id only invest in one if you're crazy serious about art.

I love mine though. Between the shortcut keys, the eraser, and the screen, it made my workflow 10x easier

I dont even use the keyboard anymore except for one or two commands

Its wired, so I cant go far, but I can just lounge in bed and make digital sketchs which is really nice.

The only issue I have with mine is that the thin layer of glass makes for a very small disconnect between what you see and what you draw, that holds it back from being on the same level of trad

I see- do you have wireless capability though? I run an Intuos Pro M and it has Bluetooth connectability

The 13hd I got doesn't, but there are cintiqs that do for a bigger pricetag.

I heard really good things about the cintiq companion 2 if you want to consoledate into a single device

its a cintiq with its own battery and hardware, so its completely portable.

Well, I'm definitely not good enough to make use of such a thing, but I'll thank you for the info and keep it in mind.

Your skills will carry over from both using an intuos and doing trad work, so its a nice investment with no need to rush into it. The learning curve is non existant if you already know how to use digital tools.

I reccomend waiting a year or two while you save up money comfortably and hone your skills in the meantime. Its a great goal to aim for.
