@RoflTank How the fuck is this shit possible

2019-01-08 17:43:34 UTC

LMAO

2019-01-08 17:43:41 UTC

IT KEEPS GETTIJNG WORSE

2019-01-08 18:07:37 UTC

You would think

2019-01-08 18:07:52 UTC

People would be able to work with computer clocks fine now

2019-01-08 18:11:22 UTC

Did Bethesda Y2K themselves?

2019-01-08 18:35:05 UTC

I wanna see Bethesda attempt to defend themselves on this one

2019-01-08 18:41:59 UTC

The defense I keep hearing is they turned them off to rework them, which is Bethesda code for 'somethings fucked with the lag monsters'

2019-01-08 18:44:33 UTC

"So I've heard on the internet that our games can have a few bugs"
Todd your fucking clocks don't even work

The impressive part is, this means they're running on a unix clock? (The clock that predates 1999)

2019-01-08 19:10:25 UTC

Which is good until like 2019

2019-01-08 19:10:40 UTC

They're running on the old clock format that predates the 90s

2019-01-08 19:10:58 UTC

*just like their engine*

2019-01-08 19:11:08 UTC

@Nic386 This means it's a reverse y2k, it legit happened but, instead of firing nukes it kept them locked up safe

2019-01-08 19:11:19 UTC

God bless the enclave

2019-01-08 19:12:29 UTC

Honestly would have been funnier if they constantly crashed the servers with nukes

2019-01-08 19:16:40 UTC

IT’S A UNIX SYSTEM
I KNOW THIS

2019-01-08 20:40:19 UTC

Wait

2019-01-08 20:40:25 UTC

Are you fucking serious

2019-01-08 20:40:34 UTC

>RUNNING ON THE OLD CLOCK SYSTEM

2019-01-08 20:40:42 UTC

>that predates y2k

2019-01-08 21:15:45 UTC

The engine is only from 2011, why would it be using that old a clock?

2019-01-08 21:16:07 UTC

>from 2011

2019-01-08 21:16:09 UTC

no bb

2019-01-08 21:19:01 UTC

The creation engine is, that engine may have been built on even older software tho

2019-01-08 21:20:36 UTC

It is based on Gamebryo which was initially released first in 03 with an earlier version under the name NetImmerse released in 97

2019-01-08 21:37:48 UTC

Gamebryo is the core engine, because you can technically open 76 files with the Morrowind mod tools

2019-01-08 21:39:20 UTC

And the source code for that is from 97 at the earliest

2019-01-08 21:40:15 UTC

Assuming it reused NetImmeres's

2019-01-08 21:49:51 UTC

Probably some spaghetti code from 1997 there

2019-01-08 22:12:01 UTC

Bethesda needs to learn what CryEngine is

2019-01-08 22:12:10 UTC

Or even Unreal

2019-01-08 22:12:23 UTC

Either one would do Fallout wonders

2019-01-08 22:12:34 UTC

OR, they could buck up and make a modern Gamebryo

2019-01-08 22:13:05 UTC

Because while it is old, it's easier than a poor prozzie to mod and manage with minimal skill floor.

2019-01-08 22:14:34 UTC

CryEngine would be good, but you have to be trained explicitly in how to use it, Unreal is a lot easier but definitely not as easy to modify as Gamebryo unless they go out of their way to expose as much code as possible.
