Imagine waking up a week after getting hit in the face with a RHIB and you're in an Icelandic hospital. You don't speak Icelandic and have no idea wtf is going on until someone decides to speak English to you.
My best friend's father is a Swedish combat vet who deployed from 1970-1990. Infantry Captain. Did Royal guard duty. Worked for BOFORs as a private contractor too, so even in peace time he was reinstated and sadly had to get some in Iran while working in the ME on a water plant.
