Including the early adopters
Honestly a mistake
Disagree
It's the only realistic way to maintain ammo compatibility between a rifle and a carbine
Without losing performance in one or the other ballistically
Or you could do what the US does and not care
Then spend millions on something dumb
And degrade the combat performance of your soldiers by issuing a weapon that is ineffective with its ammunition
OR
We could solve the issue by just adopting the G11
The cut down model without the weird box, it's a thin vertical rectangle of KSM
yes hello fuck the fall of east Germany
You should have waited a year
maybe two
Unironically
the west gets STGW 940 parts kits, and the G11
You get the same things you have now but a year later
I never knew the StG-940 existed and my life is somewhat better now.
They’re still out there somewhere
Most of the produced ones sorta vanished after the wall fell
Some terrorist in the Middle East is probably sitting atop a cache of them and doesn’t even know it
Oh probably
They have caches of third reich weapons and they just shitter squat on all of them
Fucking useless apes
Polygonal rifling at a lower twist rate.
But would it make up for 4" of barrel missing?
I mean, I don’t know
I know rifling is a precise science
I’m sure if they looked into it it would be easy but they won’t for some reason
I mean just swapping the M4 to polygonal rifling would give some pretty good performance increases, it's blatantly superior to traditional rifling.
5r rifling isn't that much more to produce
or you just fuck having bits of metal poking your bullets, and go with polygonal rifling with a chromium electroplated interior so it'll take literally millions of rounds to break
🤔🤔🤔
>implying the govt would adopt something like that
per-unit cost would be higher, but maintaining each rifle would be significantly easier
Adopting a better upper receiver would also help
bullpup M16? You mean?
