Damn

2018-12-01 00:58:07 UTC

What about their PPS and PM63?

2018-12-01 01:07:16 UTC

I've not heard bad about the pps

2018-12-01 01:20:18 UTC

@Reichtangle when the Italians made their first smokeless powder (Alfred Nobel's Ballistite) they used pasta making machines to process the explosive paste into standardized pellets

NOT EVEN LYING HOLY SHIT

2018-12-01 01:29:18 UTC

Gotta love those Italians.

Well to make gunpowder involves drying a wet explosive paste, cutting it into sheets (pasta), cutting the sheets unto strips (pasta), cutting the strips into flakes (pastry dough) and extruding the flakes into threads (pasta) before cutting them into little filaments

2018-12-01 01:43:54 UTC

Also that little tube has really good surface area as compared to a normal pellet

2018-12-01 01:44:07 UTC

It's a hollow cylinder as opposed to a normal cyulinder

2018-12-01 01:50:11 UTC

6.5 carcano was a good Cartridge through WW1, but they got stuck in the middle of transition in WW2 and ended up using it even after it was well obsolete

2018-12-01 02:04:46 UTC

Actually the point of the tube is to have less surface area

2018-12-01 02:05:33 UTC

The goal is to burn at a slow rate on ignition and then progressively faster so the highest pressure occurs when the bullet is already moving down the barrel

2018-12-01 02:05:55 UTC

Better velocity & less likely to explode the gun

2018-12-01 02:08:27 UTC

I guess the hollow tube makes it hotter and they wanted that

2018-12-01 02:11:39 UTC

"A-Tony, the explosive penne, its a too spicy!"

2018-12-01 03:20:33 UTC

For a while Carcanos had progressive rifling as well, though it was dropped after a while I think

2018-12-01 03:43:46 UTC

Nope

2018-12-01 03:43:56 UTC

Gain twist rifling the whole time

2018-12-01 04:39:24 UTC

That's what I meant

2018-12-01 04:39:32 UTC

What's progressive rifling then ?

2018-12-01 04:39:56 UTC

Oh, It's another word for the same thing

2018-12-01 04:39:58 UTC

Oof

2018-12-01 04:40:48 UTC

So like "blast processing"?

2018-12-01 05:25:29 UTC

next on the blasphemy build list

2018-12-01 14:57:47 UTC

@Nic386 are you ordering guns from 🅱️oland

2018-12-01 15:59:47 UTC

So lugerman is doing a new thing

2018-12-01 15:59:54 UTC

Fuck I hate being poor

2018-12-01 17:27:30 UTC

I was thinking about it

2018-12-01 18:19:20 UTC

I want to get an 1894 Marlin, any caliber recommendations? Was thinking 45-70 as it was made but .44 seems appealing as well for ammo cost
