On the upside, you can run 7.62 NATO through a .308 rifle with no issues because 7.62 NATO is a lighter load than .308

2018-12-24 04:50:50 UTC

But it might short stroke in semi autos

2018-12-24 04:56:26 UTC

Rarely

2018-12-24 04:56:30 UTC

Depends on the rifle

2018-12-24 04:56:40 UTC

Most are over gassed so you should be fine

2018-12-24 04:57:09 UTC

Surplus runs in my chinkshit M14 fine

2018-12-24 05:02:23 UTC

My friend's Garand only really likes 168gr 308, but we ain't shooting that at the range so we make due with the constant failure to feeds

2018-12-24 05:02:34 UTC

But that's a special case I think

2018-12-24 05:04:18 UTC

My PSA10 hates 7.62 NATO

2018-12-24 05:04:42 UTC

But I don't think it's a special case

2018-12-24 05:05:38 UTC

I think it's a special case in that the Garand was generally rather particular with 30-06 loads, it's likely to be the same with 308

2018-12-24 05:08:35 UTC

I would expect civilian AR-10s to be made for 308, so they're not like lighter 7.62, but idk about the civilian M1as and stuff like that, is the gas system modified to like 308?

2018-12-24 05:08:55 UTC

By "stuff like that" I mean rifles originally chambered for 7.62x51

2018-12-24 05:10:43 UTC

I want the .308 rifle because the first fully auto rifle I fired was an M240 so .308 took my auto cherry and it’s also what I bagged my first deer with.

2018-12-24 05:15:14 UTC

M1s can be damaged with commercial 30-06 as it can bend the op rod. Some modern replacement parts can reduce damage to the system though

2018-12-24 05:19:23 UTC

That's the only reason why my Granda didnt buy an M1.
That and Garand thumb because he could easily solve problem 1 by reloading

2018-12-24 05:19:30 UTC

cause he loads his own shit

2018-12-24 05:20:29 UTC

You want a modern prod and gas system anyway

2018-12-24 05:27:40 UTC

True but some people just getting their rifle don't know better

2018-12-24 05:27:59 UTC

My best friend had that problem but luckily I found out what was going on and stopped him

2018-12-24 20:35:57 UTC

Tfw you let your brother in law use your levergat to hunt with, and he loses half the parts because he decides to clean it in the woods

2018-12-24 20:40:47 UTC

Oof

2018-12-24 20:44:00 UTC

this is why you dont let people use your guns unless you're with them

2018-12-25 03:10:07 UTC

@shock.advised
nigger
**WHAT**

2018-12-25 03:11:35 UTC

**W H A T**

2018-12-25 03:49:28 UTC

Lowkey might trade my USP for another CAI HK93

2018-12-25 03:58:40 UTC

Imagine trading a good gun for a shit one

2018-12-25 04:23:39 UTC

Imagine letting anyone touch your gun

2018-12-25 12:39:37 UTC

My local pawn shop has a cetme .308 for sale, are they worth a shit?

2018-12-25 13:16:19 UTC

Its a Spanish G3 (sort of, the cetme was made first). Basically the two models in common circulation are the B and C, you can tell them apart by the handguard ( b metal c wood).

Some were made in Spain for the US civ market. If it's marked "Mars" and "Made In Spain" its worth some thing beyond just shooting. The rest are just parts kits assembled either by Century Arms 💩 or some random guy (probably 💩)

Ian has given us a special Christmas gift

2018-12-25 17:13:25 UTC

Century builds are just the trunnion, cocking handle and tube, and front/rear sight

2018-12-25 17:14:25 UTC

Receiver is PTR, Barrel is Green Mountain

2018-12-25 17:15:54 UTC

It also uses a 1/2-24 thread pitch and not the original HK pitch

2018-12-25 17:17:14 UTC

The B and its parts are extremely rare, the handguard is over 800 dollars usually

2018-12-25 17:24:35 UTC

Yeah he century builds are from assorted Model C parts

2018-12-25 17:25:23 UTC

Meaning they're essentially throwing Radom parts together, causing quality on some rifles to suffer from carrying wear and fit issues

2018-12-25 17:32:06 UTC

If you want a *true* CETME C, find a local builder or wait for a new manufacturer that’s about to start a run in later 2019
