I have an MDR, got it from a 4 year old pre order list I put my name on at SHOT

before the issues were widely known

it mostly works

So, how does yours run? lol

so, I have been able to run about 8 different brands of ammo through it

I'm disappointed that they failed

it actually ran silver bear

it consistently tore the rims off of Hirtenberger

Federal XM80C wouldnt go out the ejection chute, a la garand thumb

IMO the MDR suffers from both design and execution issues

I want the MDR so I can use it as a baseball bat

the issue is dwell time

it damages the rims of most cases

it is attempting to extract too early

so, they can either change their gas port location

or design a longer, hollow gas plug for more expansion

I bet they were aiming for a certain bolt velocity to get the silly case ejectors to work properly

this is why their 3-6 position gas plug solution didnt fix it

And thus sacrificed overall function

they need to re profile their ejection chute

But I think you’re right about it being a dwell time issue

you really have to rack it hard to get live rounds into it

There has to be a ton of R&D money into the thing

yea, they spent years on it even after the initial announcement

I can understand the odd QA issue. I dealt with that on my Hudson H9

But with this much dev time with an established company, it’s very disappointing
