Alright boys.
I have a Buck Mayo Cutback, "174" on the blade, that I've carried for fucking years. Grandpa bought it for me, really the only knife I've been able to keep in good condition.
Yesterday the belt clip snapped off. I contacted Buck, and they don't make the knife anymore, and don't have replacement parts for it either. If I send it in they're just going to replace it with some shitty model instead.
I guess my question is, does anyone know where I could get a replacement clip, or another Cutback to take it off of?(DMs are open and feel free to ping me.)

2019-01-08 17:39:39 UTC

That is where I'd start

2019-01-08 17:41:41 UTC

Ah fuck

2019-01-08 17:41:47 UTC

I was hoping leather holster clip

2019-01-08 17:41:54 UTC

You meant the fucking frame

2019-01-08 17:42:02 UTC

Yeeeah.

2019-01-08 17:42:06 UTC

Either ebay another knife or find a machinist.

2019-01-08 17:42:12 UTC

Or if you want to be old school, a blacksmith.

2019-01-08 17:43:19 UTC

I just need another clip, can undo the screws at the top there(those 3 in a line are still holding down the top edge of the clip) and install a new one.

2019-01-08 17:44:58 UTC

looking on ebay now, can find exactly one that wasn't showing up before and it comes with another random knife, might just jump on that tbh.

2019-01-08 17:48:57 UTC

Yeah

2019-01-08 18:33:00 UTC

dude those clips are easy to find

2019-01-08 18:33:06 UTC

look at the hole pattern

2019-01-08 18:33:09 UTC

inline 3

2019-01-08 18:34:06 UTC

I am gonna be a shill here but upgrade to something with a "wave opening feature" for something that is pretty tough to kill

2019-01-08 18:41:55 UTC

I mean, if it’s a gift from his grandpa, I can understand wanting to fix it

2019-01-08 18:42:27 UTC

But yeah, there are plenty of knife maker parts suppliers that sell premade belt clips.

2019-01-08 18:43:41 UTC

Looks like it should be easy enough to replace

2019-01-08 18:46:14 UTC

Inline 3 clips aren't hard to find

2019-01-08 18:56:33 UTC

"wave opening feature"?
That aside, good suggestion on looking into knifemaker suppliers for clips like that. Won't be Buck branded to keep the *~original~* look, but that's really not near as huge a deal as the actual frame/blade/etc. Any recommendations on suppliers to start with?

2019-01-08 18:57:22 UTC

it's a joke about emerson knives

2019-01-08 18:58:03 UTC

knifekits

2019-01-08 18:58:18 UTC

bladehq has a parts bin

2019-01-08 18:59:03 UTC

*Isn't that the one that opens as you pull it? fuckthat*
good shit, much appreciated.

2019-01-08 18:59:26 UTC

*they are blyatiful*

2019-01-08 19:00:03 UTC

I almost want one for a meme.

2019-01-08 19:00:14 UTC

Because I would without a doubt fuck myself up at one point or another

2019-01-08 19:00:30 UTC

that is impressively hard to do

2019-01-08 19:00:56 UTC

*watch me*

2019-01-08 19:01:19 UTC

if you do that I will be impressed with your stupidity

2019-01-08 19:02:50 UTC

**Florida Man cuts hand off with pocket knife previously thought un-fuckup-able**

It wouldn't be the first time someone was impressed with it.
Gotta keep people on their toes. Even if mine are at risk πŸ‘‰ 😎 πŸ‘‰

2019-01-08 19:03:47 UTC

of course you are a florida retard

2019-01-08 19:05:42 UTC

I prefer Spyderco knives with the wave feature

2019-01-08 19:05:57 UTC

Because I like back-locks better than liner locks

2019-01-08 19:06:02 UTC

And they're lower profile in the pocket
