2019-03-14 05:06:13 UTC

2019-03-14 05:06:20 UTC

I hope he found greener pastures full of his own kind, grumpy old vet weebs

2019-03-14 05:06:35 UTC

A disturbingly large demographic now that I think about it

2019-03-14 05:06:41 UTC

Bro, I fucking hate veterans

2019-03-14 05:06:53 UTC

Okay, that's maybe too big of a bait even for me.

2019-03-14 05:07:03 UTC

@FireRising I almost went full retard like you there for a minute

2019-03-14 05:07:04 UTC

lol

2019-03-14 05:07:17 UTC

I hate American veterans, post GWOT

2019-03-14 05:07:24 UTC

There, I think that's a good distinction

2019-03-14 05:07:33 UTC

God damn are GWOT vets the biggest assholes on Earth with their borderline POG infantry escapades

2019-03-14 05:07:48 UTC

GWOT

2019-03-14 05:07:50 UTC

wut

2019-03-14 05:07:55 UTC

Global War on Terrorism

2019-03-14 05:07:58 UTC

ohhhh

2019-03-14 05:08:15 UTC

Weird that they say this shit is early surge

2019-03-14 05:08:23 UTC

When I think GWOT, I think of the older fucks from the first boogaloo

2019-03-14 05:08:33 UTC

In 1984, the Reagan administration, which had significantly expanded the CIA-run program of funding the Jihadi militants in Afghanistan, employed the term "war against terrorism" to pass legislation aimed at countering terrorist groups in the wake of the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing that killed 241 U.S. and 58 French peacekeepers.[73] In 2017, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence called the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing "the opening salvo in a war that we have waged ever since—the global war on terror."[74]

2019-03-14 05:08:35 UTC

Ah that's why

2019-03-14 05:08:55 UTC

So yeah, GWOT isn't a good term. But, basically, the first fuckwits from the 80s and 90s. So, Kuwait.

2019-03-14 05:09:25 UTC

I'm sure some soldiers would say the same about fellow vietnam vets when they came back

2019-03-14 05:09:31 UTC

Gulf War

2019-03-14 05:09:35 UTC

That's the term I was missing

2019-03-14 05:09:54 UTC

I have no issue with Nam vets.

2019-03-14 05:10:05 UTC

Nam vets were in some real shit

2019-03-14 05:10:08 UTC

Gulf war guys never really fired a shot in anger

2019-03-14 05:10:12 UTC

It was all pilots.

2019-03-14 05:10:22 UTC

That's why the Vietnam comparision doesn't work

2019-03-14 05:10:23 UTC

Fuck fighting asians, fuck fighting in asian countries, fuck fighting in jungles

2019-03-14 05:10:36 UTC

Post Korea war (armistice technically,) DMZ guards were in more danger than Gulf War vets

2019-03-14 05:10:46 UTC

lol

2019-03-14 05:11:06 UTC

Hey, my Uncle was a Korea vet. He also guarded the DMZ post armistice. They had dudes get nabbed and drug over the border every other month for the first few years.

2019-03-14 05:11:28 UTC

Norks didn't play games

2019-03-14 05:11:32 UTC

Still don't, tbh

2019-03-14 05:11:40 UTC

Look up the tree incident if you don't believe me.

2019-03-14 05:11:53 UTC

Anyways, one of the best veterans I know is a Gulf War vet, actually two em.

2019-03-14 05:12:33 UTC

One is my history/philosophy professor, a Chief Petty Officer. He got combat in the Gulf War, and jokes he didn't get a purple heart on his ship cause he knew how to duck. The other was my veteran officer at my college, he was NCIS and went undercover to investigate and root out terror groups in ME during the Gulf War and I think he did time in Iraq too.
