cfr. 2 Kings 23.10: "Josiah profaned the Tofet, which was in the valley of Ben-Hinnon, so that no one could pass his son or his daughter there by fire in honor of Moloch".
cfr. Jeremiah 7.31: "they built the altar of Tofet, in the valley of Ben-Hinnon, to burn the sons and daughters in the fire, which I never commanded and which never occurred to me".

[34] They placed their abominable idols even in the temple that bears my name to defile it [35] and built the heights of Baal in the valley of Ben-Hinnon to make their sons and their daughters pass in the fire in honor of Moloch - something that I had not commanded, indeed I had not even thought of instituting a similar abomination -, to induce us to sin Judas »”.
The god Moloch was revered by the Canaanites to whom children were offered in sacrifice (the Bible says "passed by the fire").
