Five people have been shot dead in San Diego - all members of the same family.
The Los Angeles Times reports the suspect is among the dead.
An 11-year-old child reportedly survived, and is undergoing surgery.
The dead include boys aged three, five and nine, and two adults - a 29-year-old woman and 31-year-old man.
The New York Times reported the man was the killer, and the victims his estranged wife and her children. It's not clear if the children were also his.
"There are no outstanding suspects at this time," a police officer said.
