Brasília, 01/31/2020 - The Minister of Justice of Paraguay, Cecilia Pérez, met this Thursday (30th) with the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sergio Moro, to ratify cooperation in the fight against crime organized and also to define specific lines of action against the criminal organization Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and other groups that work in prisons.
“Our main regional ally at the moment is Brazil in the fight against organized crime and against the PCC. Brazil has been cooperating with Paraguay mainly in matters of technical assistance and in prison matters and we had talked at the summit of ministers of Mercosur about actions that we want to deepen and advance, ”said the minister.
The directors of the Federal Police, Maurício Valeixo, and the National Penitentiary Department, Fabiano Bordignon, in addition to Paraguayan security officials, also attended the meeting, in the minister's office. Cecilia Pérez also visited the Federal Penitentiary in Brasília.
