The FAL was NATOs standard weapon from the 50s onwards

Except for americans

and Brazil keeps using it but as a Modernized Variant

Because Murika

the US has their own stuff but

they just lost the potential of the FN FAL

The M16 was arguably more practical

I mean imagine fighting in the jungle with a 5kg FAL

it happened with the Australian Forces in Vietnam

And with the South Africans in Angola I know

But its still ... cumbersome
Although it does give one a boner to look at
