It’s a very complicated topic. If Facebook wants to restrict the lawful expression of free speech based on political bias or any bias for that matter, then they must be considered a publisher and be held responsible for all of the content on its platform. This goes for all of the social media sites. If they are a public square then they need to allow all forms of legal expression of free speech.
As for the collection and sale of individual’s data that’s their business model and as a user you consent to that.

State intervention? No. Federal? Very yes. Especially since Zuccbook is acting as a publisher and not a platform
