Balls
Good morning gentz
we live in a society
hey fam
Wait, we do?
For those who are living in Europe:
Does it make sense for a male to go and seek mental help?
Or at least some sort of professional assertion of their mental state?
I am being far too iffy about it, because after seeing the APA definition of masculinity, I do not think that the European institutions for psychology will stop going the same way
The Person above me has the Oof
Morning nibbas
Morning
The stopping thing is about phrasing. We men refuse to overshadow women.
And morning thorax
@Kragt the baboon was actually a funny reference š
@Thorax, Crash'n Burn model Most places you are going straight into the crazy person category if you seek mental help in Europe
@Thorax, Crash'n Burn model That is the social stigma, not to mention most people there are probably female
Well fuck.
Now I won't know something about me I could have used for my gain or found something that helps me get my shit together<:GWsetmyxPeepoWeird:405337568155009024>
Of course without being prescribed zoloft
Cantwell did nothing wrong
lol jk
@Thorax, Crash'n Burn model You don't want to be on any SSRI mate, better look up some psychologist online
@Thorax, Crash'n Burn model I can only speak for the US side of the psych industry, but I know the EU uses the same models the DSM is built on, so you can find help, but itās going to take a lot of trial and error.
You could probably get more out of reading Jordan Petersonās books, much less Jung or any Greek philosopher, in the meanwhile.
@Five, Seven, and Two They don't, they have their own manual, but it very simular
@Five, Seven, and Two I agree with that, I have done a lot of Jordan Peterson's lectures myself. Very helpful stuff
@Baron Doom Didnāt say they used the DSM.
Just his books?
ICD is the one World Health uses, but Iām not sure thatās uniform for the EU.
As a start?
@Five, Seven, and Two I know you didn't say that, they have their own manual in Europe but it is more or less the same as DSM
@Thorax, Crash'n Burn model You can look for a psychiatrist for professional help, but Iād recommend you start doing some reading of your own, in the interim. I suggest Peterson because, despite the flack, his stuff is at least accessible and neatly digestible by design.
@Baron Doom I know UK and Germany use ICD, which is possibly even more fucked than DSM, but Iām clueless on the rest, much less anything in the Eastern Bloc.
@Thorax, Crash'n Burn model You could start with Personality and it's transformation with Jordan B. Peterson
@Five, Seven, and Two Yup, that is the European one I meant. And yes, both are pretty fucked up
>juden pewterstein
wew
eh probably a good place to start
@DoubleFreedom Putting yourself in the position of someone who has done little-to-no personal introspection, JP is the easiest thing to get them to start *any* form of introspection.
Itās the kiddie pool with water-wings on. Telling people to ājust go readā Jung or Skinner or Erikson is like chucking a kid in the Northern Pacific for his first swimming lesson.
aaa
i added that last part so that i *wouldn't* get a reply that would require comment
Iām used to you being sarcastic from start to end and I misread that last bit. Sorry, mate.
@Five, Seven, and Two I agree, the course I mentioned is an intro to all of the above
@Baron Doom Yeah, thatās the best start. @Thorax, Crash'n Burn model In case you missed it:
āPersonality and Its Transformationā
