I havent seen the one from Shadiversity but by the intro I anticipate a roasting of Thanic proportions

2019-03-13 01:27:47 UTC

I know I won't watch it because captain marvel as a character is such a snooze fest

2019-03-13 01:29:49 UTC

Captain marvel is the same as Wonder women. "Im strong for the sake of being strong because Im a women! Whamen need strong big boy characters in movies!"

2019-03-13 01:31:24 UTC

It's disappointing when all these women characters just turn into Mary Sue

2019-03-13 01:31:43 UTC

Exactly my thoughts there

2019-03-13 01:32:04 UTC

I watched this guy get stung by a bullet ant.

2019-03-13 01:32:05 UTC

Im watching the Shadiversity review rn

2019-03-13 01:32:30 UTC

Then this guy gets introduced to a warrior wasp, which is supposed to be worse. But it's not.

2019-03-13 01:32:48 UTC

And then, finally, he finds the executioner wasp.

2019-03-13 01:33:03 UTC

Where is the fun in watching a character that is good at everything and has no redeemable weaknesses.

2019-03-13 01:33:30 UTC

@Xychotic A video of a man purposing getting stung...

2019-03-13 01:33:41 UTC

To put it bluntly, these women attempt at a flat character arc without being a well written one

2019-03-13 01:34:16 UTC

It's very fun to watch.

2019-03-13 01:34:37 UTC

depends on ur view of fun actually

2019-03-13 01:34:38 UTC

@Xychotic That wasp is quite large...

2019-03-13 01:34:45 UTC

Goku is often deemed to be an example of being "the strongest" and the world around him reacts to him. The world changes and grows around Goku.

Unlike a mary sue. A mary sue is some trash found in the fanfiction dumpster.

2019-03-13 01:34:53 UTC

@Xychotic I can see the appeal of this type of content though

2019-03-13 01:35:29 UTC

@Xychotic lol I’ve seen that, wouldn’t want to experience that

2019-03-13 01:35:41 UTC

He straight up quits after the executioner wasp.

2019-03-13 01:35:54 UTC

^_^

2019-03-13 01:36:28 UTC

@Leif_Ericksson99 its like adventure.... something people say they admire but would never put themselves through....

2019-03-13 01:36:32 UTC

Saitama is proof you can make a character so unsurpassably strong that any threat is trivialized by his presence, but still have an insane amount of fun. If you make a Mary Sue and your story also sucks, you’re a shit writer on at least two fronts.

2019-03-13 01:36:41 UTC

@MusicalKnight Strong female lead is an excuse for these people to not write good stories

2019-03-13 01:36:48 UTC

But I’ve heard that in some South American tribe they make the boys put on sort of glove filled with bullet ants, and if they can withstand the pain then they are considered men

2019-03-13 01:37:13 UTC

@Five, Seven, and Two exactly, he has a flat character arc

2019-03-13 01:37:17 UTC

I heard about something like that.

2019-03-13 01:37:26 UTC

@frugalcasper Exactly!

2019-03-13 01:37:29 UTC

@Five, Seven, and Two I don't know who that is but it is possible

2019-03-13 01:37:31 UTC

@Five, Seven, and Two ***THANK YOU***

2019-03-13 01:37:38 UTC

@frugalcasper One Punch Man.

2019-03-13 01:37:39 UTC

part of their rite of passage Leif

2019-03-13 01:37:48 UTC
2019-03-13 01:37:54 UTC

The world _AROUND_ him develops from the mc itself

2019-03-13 01:38:00 UTC

@Five, Seven, and Two That's the thing, Saitama's flaw is that he IS that powerful.

2019-03-13 01:38:12 UTC

Thus not making him a mary sue!

2019-03-13 01:38:14 UTC

I heard powerful

2019-03-13 01:38:26 UTC

@ziyauren yeah but seems kind of cruel

2019-03-13 01:38:49 UTC

Thats what makes a particularly powerfull character work, in that instance

2019-03-13 01:38:54 UTC

@MusicalKnight He doesn’t have a flat arc, either. Guy’s struggling with an existential crisis because of it.

2019-03-13 01:39:04 UTC

rites of passage r designed to sort out the weak and teach... never easy or kind
