What’s the reasoning behind precious metals maintaining value post-collapse? It seems unlikely to me that people will trade food for silver nowadays. It seems like solar powered electronics will be much more valuable. I’m sure It depends on the severity of collapse too.

@MasculineOtterMobile Google 100 common uses for silver, it is an industrial metal as well as a precious metal, and even if we magically avoid the huge debacle that ever mounting, silver is a huge component in our technology driven world

Precious metals are inflation proof. They preserve wealth, they don't usually grow in value. But they'll still be worth what they were in the past (you'll just get more of the inflated currency for it).

In a technological world I understand why it has value.
