I noticed Marvel set part of Dr. Strange in Hong Kong. They are trying to appeal to the Chinese market.

Also as an aside these successor characters are all horribly concieved and written. They might get some traction placing these chacters into older stories starring the original characters. But it won't be enough.

So long story short. because comic books are creatively stagnant the movies will eventually fail.

This is going to create a void

And Hollywood will ask itself a question

As a related aside I think one of the big appeals of anime, etc is becuase due to Japan's isolation it doesn't have a lot of cultural baggage. this extends to the media they produce.

It's more free. Even the wokest of soyboys can excuse a lot of what they would otherwise decry as japan being japan. There were few to no white people involved in the creation, production, etc. after all.

Back to the main bit.

They're already trying to formulate anime into successful movies. They've been doing it for quite a while.

I expect the process will be faster this time.

There will be some failures, some false starts (scarjo ghost in the shell.). Some middling successes (All you need is kill/Edge of tomorrow.)

But they will eventually get the formula right. Maybe they'll finally get Steven Chow to stop being such a sourpuss and actually direct a dragon ball movie. Maybe Some black director will score a major hit and get a studio to greenlight a Naruto script he's been sitting on for years.

Maybe someone will punch some sense into james cameron and he will make one of several anime adaptations he's been attached to.

When that happens the feasting will really begin.

Hollywood's gonna, in a hilariously un self aware move. Colonize the fuck out of japanese comic and anime IPs.

Some big corp like disney will make some major power play and straight buy Shonen Jump. And once Hollywood starts is weinstenian insertion into that market they will fuck it to death.

This will include a butt ton of cultural marxism. Of course.

Weird things regarding the race and casting of characters.

They'll find some compliant young japanese women to come into the compaies to diversify (ruin) them creatively. And that will be all she wrote for and anime/manga industry. The creative environment will be damaged beyond repair. At least as far as human lifespans are concerned.
