```In 2015, Diamond began the electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC), a UK national facility providing instruments and expertise in the field of cryo-electron microscopy. Initially, one FEI Titan Krios microscope I was housed in the experimental hall at Diamond. In September 2018, Dr. Richard Henderson (biologist), the 2017 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, officially opened eBICs own dedicated facility. Housing four dedicated FEI cryo-electron microscopes for academia as well as two new cryo-electron microscopes and professional cryo-EM services designed exclusively for the pharmaceutical industry.[9] Experimental techniques available at this facility include single particle analysis of biological macromolecules, cellular tomography and electron crystallography```
