The vital fundamental attribute of concrete is in fact the compression strength. Without good compression strength, you might as well just use wood. Oak wood has an MPa of 8. Compared to Hempcrete which is only a 1.

So basically a house built out of Oak would in fact be more durable than a house built out of Hempcrete.

The renewable applications and rapid growth of hemp would make it more practical than oak maybe?
