You're not going to get a very strong "you should have been working" opinion from me because I've got no room to talk.
I cleaned office buildings over the weekend for spending money in college, but my parents foot the bill for tuition. Only thing I paid for in nearly 6 years out of pocket was my car, food, gas, and the odd t-shirt. It's never too late to start doing something, man. Believe me.
yeah i actually have paths handed to me
i can easily get a security guard job
i have all necessary materials through... connections
Volunteer for night shift. Cushy job, low effort, affords you plenty of time to read.
guess it's back to building a resume then
Pro tip: write your resume to fit the job you're applying for.
If it asks about you being a self-starter and independently motivated, hype the shit out of that.
But, it's also the 21st century, so bend the truth, but never lie. Omit, never explicitly state something false.
i like honesty but is it really a bad thing to lie a little to these companies?
Ever watch a YouTuber nuke their career with a white lie on a livestream?
nope
You'll experience it firsthand if you do it at an interview.
well if it nukes you then it wasn't a white lie, was it?
They might not know it then, but if you get the job on a lie, they'll find out and the internet's right there for them to tell everyone else they know.
You'd be surprised, man.
See, it's technically illegal in the US, particularly in at-will employment states, for a former employee to comment on your employment. They can only confirm or deny.
But there's no law against a former coworker reaching out on LinkedIn or Facebook and giving a "character reference" about you.
It's a gray area and pretty lawsuit-heavy right now, but as it stands companies still have the power to blackball you out of entire industries. And if you're MGTOW, they've already got enough reasons. Don't give them new ones.
i don't have a digital print on the internet connected to my real name
besides a lazy email address
last thing i want to see is a search result containing one negative piece on me
It's not your digital print you need to worry about quite so much as the print of who you cross.
We live in the era of social media posts abjectly destroying a man's life on sheer hearsay.
The adage of "live above reproach" is something we, as men, need to make sure we're doing for our own sake, if nothing else.
Might not hurt to build a bit of a professional digital print for yourself, either.
It's a double-edged sword, yeah, but you never know who's going to open what doors for you down the road. I've gotten jobs through people I hadn't even spoken to for over a year.
so basically: don't burn bridges and don't offend people whom you don't know what are capable of (even the one's you feel like you do you have to be carefull, since they can change that in just a couple of years)
@Tits MCgee Basically.
@Redpilluniverse12 How do you mean?
Ok so does anyone else here other than me have this problem? And if so i want to know what it is called (or i may already know but just to make sure)
Whenever i do something i like and suddenly i think about a negative thought, that thought kind of like "adapting" to the thing i like to do, and when you back to the thing you like to do, you replay that same negative thought. Yeah that's it, i can't explain better than this
It's a self defense mechanism
Its your subconscious involving itself because it detects something it hasn't adapted too yet because you are doing something new
Essentially
Quick question what's the underlying meaning of women giving you a compliments?
I was thinking that but was not certain thanks @Redpilluniverse12
@Rhunespire a self defence mechanism? Does this mean i defend myself from the things i like to do
When it comes to new things, I think so.
I may have not understood entirely what you're getting at.
