yea, they do have ways to read people and be able to prepare, but even then you can easily get cracked witha cheap shot

The more you train the more you will be able to control your adrenaline when the fight starts and it litterally will feel like time slows down

In the martial arts schools for self defense, they should do way more sparring and fighting. Also intense sparring like 2v1 and group sparring to get the most adrenaline

I'm not sure about the west but in Asia the martial arts are bullshit
minimal rules anything goes within reason and with some level of safety involved

Forms are cool, i enjoyed them. Those don't teach you how to fight

You don't learn how to punch properly by doing some dance fighting shit
or poses
the blocking system doesn't work, and those 500 techniques you need to learn aren't gonna work if you try it in a real scenero
@Sigma I have had friends who I showed nothing more than how to incorporate their hips and throw their weight behind punches and they became much better street fighters for it
not to mention, it can take about 2-3 years for a black belt...that's too short and they focus too heavily on forms, and shit
