r u going into college straight from school? if possible take a year break in between to work a bit and develop your hobbies and invest into urself so you have a platform to live ur life on while at college - college can ruin u if you go in with bad mental

if you're studying cs too, you could spend that year mastering one of the mainstream languages and then build stuff - if you go into college with this you're going to fly by

regardless - learnng a language isnt hard - if you're good at data structures and algorithms in general you can pick up languages very quick

Python is the most popular actually used quite a lot with archlinux but I’ve yet to learn why

If I’m able to learn conversational Chinese I think I can master a few programming languages

well - technically speaking - JavaScript is the best language to learn - it's not going anywhere -> java and python will eventually get replaced

but regardless, as i said earlier, learning a language is not hard and is very quick if you have good foundations in data structures and algorithms
