On the whole- java is still a great language . But python has so many cool libraries that people think python is the better language. But at its core , without libraries, IMO java is better if you want to actually get good at programming because you need to know what’s going on, most of the time, to create ‘good code’ - in python you have thick af handle bars

But I can understand why the majority of unis teach in java

Because at the end of the day knowing languages doesn’t make you good at programming - being a good problem solver is the desirable trait

Learning a language is quick af in comparison

Because java is not that hard to comprehend basic stuff, but still gives some space for thinking
