my bad lol i meant CDL im just high right now

2019-01-31 00:48:46 UTC

Most truckers do not earn 6k a year, least ways until they get the job experience. Tanker is usually the way to go.

2019-01-31 00:48:51 UTC

@Xychotic yeah i always have a back up plan if that doesnt work out

2019-01-31 00:49:01 UTC

6k a year?

2019-01-31 00:49:08 UTC

I'd hope most truckers don't earn 6k a year

2019-01-31 00:49:22 UTC

6000 a month mayble less with taxes taken out

2019-01-31 00:49:22 UTC

a yearf lol my bvad thought you said month, sorry brain fart

2019-01-31 00:49:42 UTC

And now my spelling, bah.

2019-01-31 00:49:45 UTC

Well, let's assume they take out something obscene, like 40%.

2019-01-31 00:50:10 UTC

Your take home is roughly $3600

2019-01-31 00:50:13 UTC

Something obscene, is essentially my tax rate <:why:480186116222353410>

2019-01-31 00:50:34 UTC

(I assumed 40% because that's basically gov't spending of GDP)

2019-01-31 00:51:32 UTC

Actually, let's make a daring thing and cut it in half to account for whatever benefits you have.

2019-01-31 00:52:07 UTC

damn is it really like that?

2019-01-31 00:52:10 UTC

In some cases once you have the experience, usually 2-3 years, and you own your own truck. You can clear upwards of 3k a month, but you have to include overhead, cost of fuel, repairs etc. My brother hauls fuel and make 98k a year.

2019-01-31 00:52:25 UTC

That's why you don't want to be an owner operator.

2019-01-31 00:52:32 UTC

That's a lot of risk you're taking on for yourself.

2019-01-31 00:52:32 UTC

True

2019-01-31 00:52:54 UTC

This is not RV's career, this is his money until he's got what he wants.

2019-01-31 00:52:56 UTC

damn i never thought of it that way before, thank you guys for the advice

2019-01-31 00:52:59 UTC

Owner Operator is a shit deal

2019-01-31 00:53:09 UTC

And, here's the real kicker.

2019-01-31 00:53:21 UTC

with all the tfm cat people coming over pretty soon we gonna be the cat zone

2019-01-31 00:53:31 UTC

just realized that

2019-01-31 00:53:37 UTC

I'll bring the pooper scoopers.

2019-01-31 00:53:51 UTC

Everyone's still hiring truckers. You can go on a road trip for however the fuck long, then when it's time to re up on your moneys, you sign on, haul a few loads (lulz) and then get back on the road for your own travels.

2019-01-31 00:54:49 UTC

Most of it is otr, local usually does not make you a lot of money. Unless you are hauling Fuel, and some hazmat.

2019-01-31 00:55:09 UTC

You do what you can handle and plan accordingly.

2019-01-31 00:55:19 UTC

So true my friend.

2019-01-31 00:55:33 UTC

oh like own my own semi and make hauls when needed

2019-01-31 00:55:38 UTC

This is basically a 5 to 10 year plan.

2019-01-31 00:55:45 UTC

No, no. Not your own semi.

2019-01-31 00:55:51 UTC

oh ok

2019-01-31 00:55:58 UTC

You can stay employed with a trucking company and come back and work for them when you need cash.

2019-01-31 00:56:11 UTC

oh ok makes sence

2019-01-31 00:56:20 UTC

A big loop while your ride rests in storage and then you have money, touch up any details and back to semi retirement.

2019-01-31 00:56:29 UTC

You could practically work for half a year and travel for the other half.

2019-01-31 00:56:38 UTC

i like it and i would be training for hazmat driving as well

2019-01-31 00:56:46 UTC

Could you imagine a sweeter gig than 6 months of whatever you want every year?

2019-01-31 00:57:06 UTC

Red, in all honesty going company is usuall smarter, least ways imho. Spend 2years company, this way you learn the shipping lanes and other ins and outs. Most people go broke as owner/op and have nothing to show for it. Also fracking is paying a lot of money for truckers with experiance.

2019-01-31 00:57:10 UTC

that would be my dream
