Not really work for yourself. Own a business or start investing smart

2018-09-15 16:17:30 UTC

maritime work for example is free from income tax since the labor is done on the open seas.

2018-09-15 16:17:47 UTC

Ya there are a million ways

2018-09-15 16:17:48 UTC

@IceRGodZ How do you own a business?

2018-09-15 16:18:00 UTC

Employment, self-employment, business man, investor

2018-09-15 16:18:05 UTC

@IceRGodZ I disagree. I don't need to ever touch my 401k and I contribute tax-free and it grows tax-free. When I retire my income will be small so taxes will be small. I invest in low-fee (0.04%) etfs that return 12% (past 20 years).

2018-09-15 16:18:05 UTC

the point is that the blue pilled sheeple path is slavery

2018-09-15 16:18:08 UTC

ESBI

2018-09-15 16:18:26 UTC

@IceRGodZ Explicitly explain every step of the process in order to achieve that end, in significant detail please.

2018-09-15 16:18:37 UTC

I thought the bank changes fees for 401K

2018-09-15 16:18:44 UTC

and they babysit your money

2018-09-15 16:18:47 UTC

if you want freedom you have to look for freedom. If you are looking for what is holding you back you can only find limitation.

2018-09-15 16:18:54 UTC

@Seven Of Swords Find a product, service or information to sell. Contact local government for licensing fee (less than $200). Start selling.

2018-09-15 16:19:13 UTC

Or go sole proprietor and just sell using your SSN instead of an "EIN" or whatever it's called.

2018-09-15 16:19:39 UTC

You could learn a trade or become a handy man and do work for cash

2018-09-15 16:20:21 UTC

@IceRGodZ Fuck no. I have my 401k in a brokerage. There are "active management funds" with insane fees where they fuck you. I do "passive investing." Google "The simple path to wealth .pdf" and enjoy 😉

2018-09-15 16:20:40 UTC

@Lilu You are at risk if you become too successful though.

2018-09-15 16:20:50 UTC

Cash or not, you "owe" a % to the gov.

2018-09-15 16:20:58 UTC

@machtyn So just start selling shit with a 200 dollar investment that you don't know if you will be successful or not? Running a business costs more than 200$ so any attempt to build the business that is more than the license means that you lost more than you put in. Unless you suggest to take out a loan and get into debt based upon nothing more than a "maybe"... which seems very unwise to me.

2018-09-15 16:20:58 UTC

If you're on their radar you get fucked.

2018-09-15 16:21:10 UTC

I have to jump in the shower and then head out guys. So I'll TTYL.

2018-09-15 16:22:51 UTC

@Seven Of Swords It depends on the business. If you make an e-book, youtube videos, website it will cost nothing (static sites hosted on GitHub Pages with Cloudflare is free). If you make physical products, yes, it will cost more. If you sell your services it depends. You can start paying nothing and as you start making more and more money getting an LLC or S-Corp may be beneficial for taxes. Then, it will cost $200. You can start a business without any license (depending on the business - selling food is regulated and so depends on laws).

2018-09-15 16:24:18 UTC

Like @Lilu said - you could become a tradesman in a union/open shop for 5-10 years to gain skills then whenever you feel skilled enough you can become your own "shop" and compete in the market.

2018-09-15 16:24:36 UTC

For those types of businesses, you'll need licenses/insurance/etc.

2018-09-15 16:24:42 UTC

In case people sue for tort law.

2018-09-15 16:24:49 UTC

So, freedom with constraints is your solution?

2018-09-15 16:25:00 UTC

Not my solution. It's the current system.

2018-09-15 16:25:26 UTC

So why not change it?

2018-09-15 16:25:27 UTC

We're not designing better solutions here. Unless you're a policy maker... we have no say in that.

2018-09-15 16:25:34 UTC

Why aren't you?

2018-09-15 16:25:42 UTC

Why use the current political system as the method of change?

2018-09-15 16:26:01 UTC

Its clearly dogshit so we have to think of new systems of change instead...

2018-09-15 16:26:03 UTC

It's not change. It's survival. Just like with going your own way.

2018-09-15 16:26:32 UTC

You can lobby, leave or ghost.

2018-09-15 16:26:39 UTC

Then why not think of new ways to survive rather than the current system's bullshit constructs of what survival is?

2018-09-15 16:26:39 UTC

If you lobby, I'd support you!

2018-09-15 16:26:58 UTC

What if lobbying is not good enough?

2018-09-15 16:27:07 UTC

I personally feel like I am doing well in this system because I am very unconventional in wealth, health and career.

2018-09-15 16:27:19 UTC

It's not, lol. Lobbying doesn't do shit most of the time.

2018-09-15 16:27:20 UTC

How about other methods of change that would not require a government or even the invention of a new political party?

2018-09-15 16:27:37 UTC

Like?
