2018-09-22 07:10:42 UTC

Now, it's four to five weeks of anxiety, but I reckon I passed.

2018-09-22 07:13:12 UTC

sounds interesting

2018-09-22 07:13:30 UTC

I'm going to an orientation for electrician apprenticing this coming Tuesday

2018-09-22 07:14:20 UTC

Apprenticeship into Trade into Easy Life.

2018-09-22 07:14:27 UTC

It's a good path.

2018-09-22 07:14:52 UTC

yeah not liking office jobs

2018-09-22 07:15:58 UTC

I see here welding is 86% male

2018-09-22 07:16:08 UTC

less bitches more riches

2018-09-22 07:16:09 UTC

Pretty much.

2018-09-22 07:16:48 UTC

I doubt many women would do critical jobs that'd warrant inspectors.

2018-09-22 07:17:22 UTC

Lol 👍

2018-09-22 07:18:15 UTC

GTAW/TIG welding is literally art compared to other welding processes.

2018-09-22 07:19:31 UTC

interesting

2018-09-22 07:19:50 UTC

Do you have like something similar as a sparky?

2018-09-22 07:20:50 UTC

lol no-idea I'm a total noob, googling GTAW and TIG welding atm

2018-09-22 07:22:08 UTC

It's the same thing, but different codes call it different things. EN vs American.

2018-09-22 07:22:38 UTC

What can you do? -.-

2018-09-22 07:23:19 UTC

well right now I'm a computer technician

2018-09-22 07:23:30 UTC

so I'm more in the abstract dimension

2018-09-22 07:24:00 UTC

I was became curious about electrical because its proximity to what I already do now

2018-09-22 07:24:18 UTC

Welding is literally just creating an arc.

2018-09-22 07:24:26 UTC

I've been contracting since end of school, never worked a full time job

2018-09-22 07:24:52 UTC

FT "pro" job, that is

2018-09-22 07:25:34 UTC

That's really cool. You could probably repair/service welding machines. Too many workshops just throw them out.

2018-09-22 07:25:53 UTC

If you become a sparky, that is.

2018-09-22 07:30:15 UTC

"soldering" is pretty much welding right?

2018-09-22 07:31:02 UTC

I guess so.

2018-09-22 07:31:17 UTC

Different materials and temperatures, though.

2018-09-22 07:32:43 UTC

Soldering obviously doesn't bring the parent materials to melting point, though, whereas you're dealing with actual molten metal with welding.

2018-09-22 07:32:45 UTC

I see

2018-09-22 07:34:04 UTC

yeah soldering is a skill I want to pick up for my iOT projects

2018-09-22 07:34:16 UTC

thx for the info, gonna do some lookin

2018-09-22 07:34:39 UTC

IOT? Like... Those singleboard computers?

2018-09-22 07:37:22 UTC

nothing fancy, more like ardunio-integrated sensors and web apps

2018-09-22 07:38:56 UTC

Interesting.

2018-09-22 07:42:48 UTC

yup

2018-09-22 07:42:59 UTC

gonna hit the sack ttyl

2018-09-22 07:43:19 UTC

and bonne chance with the inspection exam result

2018-09-22 07:45:38 UTC

:)

2018-09-22 08:00:37 UTC

Maybe they aren't being wagecucked
