TV tells you what's "important", that's the problem.

They use small truths to convince you that bigger things are issues.

They use big names and big platforms to validate them.

It's all propagandization and conspiracy theories.

Honestly, if it isn't entertainment, I don't even watch TV. Not for a couple years now. Maybe a decade. I prefer YouTube, it's more informing and customizable.

And free.

I like TV cuz you get to just vegetate. On computer you have to engage: "I want this video; now that site..." TV you sit down and relax and just let the TV do everything. Of course don't be a zombie either but TV has its uses

TV is a nuisance in 2018 though. Other than DVR, where you can skip commercials and choose programming. Though, that's essentially what YouTube does. Same time, torrents are king.

Commercial comes on. "Sure." Only crappy shows. "Why not?" Hanging with someone who watches stuff I don't watch, like wrestling, curling (weird ice game), car racing, golf, etc. "You can do it!" That way if I'm stuck in adverse circumstances, I don't kill someone or myself. So let the ads play so when DVR is available it's only 'better'

I've watched soap operas with my aunt just cuz she wanted to watch them. I'd rather literally watch paint dry than watch soaps

Can't stand wrestling which is soaps for men, but absolutely don't want to kill brain cells and end up trying to boycott soaps after trying to watch one if I don't have to watch one

There's a user on this server that's huge into wrestling. I don't get it either. Most sports are boring and pointless to me.

More I prefer to play. Watching feels too lazy to me especially if I'm watching with others and HEAR them talking about sports like it has any impact on our world, like its relevant, important, or of any value in the big picture

Yeah, that's exactly my point. So many people think that that's more important than the actual things that matter in life.

I can understand why many women get upset when men run to sports on TV (besides women being selfish and so only what they like makes sense to them). Sports tend to make men look like primitive apes, spending so much energy money and time on something that is like the video you watch before you start working some places (except sports won't do much for most), something that means so very little

Shopping is more reasonable then TV sports if you look at it on the surface

Plus none of these players give a fuck about their fans. THe vast majority of them are just in it for the money and to be a part of the celebrity proletariat.
