many countrys base the value of their currency off the us dollar which is what gives the us dollar so much value

What your not getting is that when you own your own debt, it doesnt matter - it can impact other things sure.

we dont own our own debt. china has bought a tremendous amount of the us debt. in addition the fed is the one thats printing insane amounts of money to pay for free shit. which is why the us dollar has lost **90%** of its value in the last like 100 years

the debt on its own isnt insane. but the printing of money with no breaks is what has killed the us economy in terms of longevity
