senate and congress used to be voluntary positions
and unpaid
^
Once congress voted themselves a paycheck, they created the political class
Honestly as long as government is big, It will be corrupt.
and when they took money from special interests groups, it got worse
This is why I want to declare myself Imperator of the American Empire - I have a house to clean.
make it a meritocracy when you do, please
i can be useful
Oh, I will.
i know how to farm!
Meritocracy will be the order of the day
Once the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches are absorbed into the Imperial branch, my main goal would be revamping the entire Judicial system as well as the Educational system.
Honestly I wonder if enough people could Lie their way into power, they could maybe change things. But it would take a majority in all 3 branches.
Well here's the antidote to that; TFM makes a great point in caring about results and not principles.
If they dont generate results, they are gone. Period.
"if the ends justify the means"
something along those lines
Principles be damned.
Guess so, It irritates me that stupid people get all the power by controlling even more stupid people.
Or maybe they are just corrupt 🤷
we need patriots in office
I would have the public school system go back to encouraging critical thought
The entire college system would be revamped as well
No more free college - ever
You want a degree? EARN IT
By studying your ass off
I'll make college degree's great again
I'd also segregate schools as well; boys and girls seperate - to see how it would play out in our modern era
the only schooling i'd want to see free is vocational/trade school and if not free then subsidized
US college is being propped up by a lot of really perverse things
bring skilled labor back
the fact that anyone can get a student loan, and that student loan is federally insured is just insane to me
One thing I've considered is pushing the idea of trade schools; not good enough to get into college? go to a trade school - have a job for life
@Brainbarf that is part of the problem
Welfare would all but disappear
its basically set up so that colleges have unlimited free money with absolutely no risk
i know a go that was going to medical school, but the debt was too much. went to a trade school to become a welder and now makes fat fucking money
the only limit is how many students they can ensnare
has already paid off his student loan, bought a house, and has a healthy nest egg
