you'd actually be serving the country
Well you become a DHS LEO basically
Which fits into what i do now
(I do defense)
Thanks for the encouragement
I haven't set a high goal for myself in a few years
I've got plenty of T left, I need to go get this
is this the direct commission program?
Yes
looks like there's not a lot of spots available each year, I'd look into this ASAP
6 per selection
2 selections per year
yea that's what I saw
Some goy on the forums actually put me on to this
I need to commit
do it man
start the process
you arent committed till you sign papers at the end of the process
officer life is pretty comfy
no, I understand
If I got it I would take it
I think it's only a 4 year commitment if what i saw is right
4 years is fine with me
my situation was way different
I was looking at an 8 year commitment after 3-4 years of flight school
and i'd be doing non-flying roles
which isn't what i wanted to do
Understudy?
so I was 22-24 looking at committing till i was 35 or so
no, naval flight officer, depending on platform you do different things
but you'd never fly
they're the weapons/sensor system operators
the skills aren't as transferable to the civilian world as pilots either
Hmmm transferable to ATC?
not directly
most go into aeronautical engineering or something
sensor/weapons system development
pilots have a log book full of hours
