sometimes it's detrimental

2018-09-19 22:06:16 UTC

the two do not correlate at all

2018-09-19 22:06:26 UTC

because what is good has absolutely positively nothing to do with the world

2018-09-19 22:06:48 UTC

boiling a dog isn't immoral because the dog suffers

2018-09-19 22:06:56 UTC

it is immoral because of the internal metaphysics of making that choice

2018-09-19 22:07:07 UTC

it is immoral because of the way your soul has to be in order to do it

2018-09-19 22:07:16 UTC

What are the internal choices needed to cook a dog

2018-09-19 22:07:16 UTC

what matters is your soul

2018-09-19 22:07:17 UTC

not the dog

2018-09-19 22:07:23 UTC

Malice

2018-09-19 22:07:25 UTC

spite

2018-09-19 22:07:25 UTC

What is one giving up to cook a dog

2018-09-19 22:07:26 UTC

cruelty

2018-09-19 22:07:35 UTC

callousness

2018-09-19 22:07:38 UTC

etc etc

2018-09-19 22:07:43 UTC

*internal* things

2018-09-19 22:07:46 UTC

not *external* things

2018-09-19 22:08:47 UTC

the only thing that's real is your soul

2018-09-19 22:08:51 UTC

everything else is irrelevant

2018-09-19 22:08:56 UTC

But cooking any animal to eat is requires that

2018-09-19 22:09:00 UTC

no

2018-09-19 22:09:03 UTC

You still have to kill it

2018-09-19 22:09:13 UTC

you don't need malice to kill something

2018-09-19 22:09:17 UTC

the point is, that in torturing the dog you['re choosing to be evil. you dont need to do any of those things to the dog, but you're choosing that. you dont need to torture a pig to eat it, you just kill it and cook it's meat.

2018-09-19 22:09:25 UTC

^

2018-09-19 22:09:41 UTC

what matters is what is going on in your soul

2018-09-19 22:09:56 UTC

not what is going on in the world

2018-09-19 22:09:57 UTC

If you kill something incorrectly, it causes a massive amount of torture to the animal

2018-09-19 22:10:05 UTC

intent

2018-09-19 22:10:09 UTC

not actions

2018-09-19 22:10:14 UTC

making a mistake is different

2018-09-19 22:10:16 UTC

not consequences

2018-09-19 22:10:20 UTC

only intent

2018-09-19 22:10:40 UTC

only what is inside matters

2018-09-19 22:11:14 UTC

this reminds me of that drunk russian

2018-09-19 22:11:45 UTC

So if someone, in the best of intentions, ends up causing massive amounts of torture, death, and pain, are they still good?

2018-09-19 22:12:34 UTC

Or are there degrees of intent

2018-09-19 22:12:50 UTC

yes

2018-09-19 22:13:00 UTC

the consequences literally do not matter at all

2018-09-19 22:13:05 UTC

intent is intent. you indend to do something. you know if you intend to do something or not
