People should be allowed to do what they want but yeah, there's a stigma on doing nothing right now, or home raising, same for men who want to stay at home though, not working in general is stigmatized
The main problem behind renewables is how backwards our battery and energy storage technology is to store it during the downtime, nuclear power is still the best for now, and if people sort out fusion in the future that'll be it for power generation
Most likely no methods of new power generation will be discovered until the oil starts running out and it becomes important for maintaining the government and economy though
