and most of my friends didnt want to play the games, or they couldn't (specs, space, etc.)
so i think that's part of why i never got into MMOs
Tera I played up until I reached the point I needed a party to progress in non-dungeon content
in ffxi that point is almost immediately
And at the time I was the only one out of all my friends that was playing it, or that far in the game
after level 10 you cant kill anything without a party
it was super fun
the classes were not balanced at all and didnt have archetypes they had to fit so they were all super unique
bard would just sit there and constantly cast buffs
redmage was a genuine hybrid which would heal, buff, debuff, and dps
Yeah if I wasn't going hard for Dragoon in 14 I would've went redmage
blue mage had like 200 spells to choose from and could make itself into basically anything
so what u mean about ff11 is that
you have agency in building your character?
ff14 redmage is just blackmage with different colors
**Better** colors
all ff14 classes are the same just with a different skin
yeah
its lame
And a stabby stik
also ffxi had a subjob system
so you had two jobs at once
your subjob was capped at half your main job level
so you could be like
warrior/ninja
i literally only know the proper idea of subjobbing because of FFd20
redmage/whitemage
~~don't play FFd20, unless you like terrible balance~~
it was so cool
i was a bluemage
/ninja to tank cause they got a spell that gave them 3 illusions that took hits before you did
/blackmage to dps and just spam big spells
it sounds like fun, actually... but the only issue is that they still charge a fee to play it, and i'm not gay enough to pay sqenix monthly to play an RPG when i can just play a tabletop RPG 🤔
its shit now
i wish i played 11 at its peak
they added npc party members
i would raid the shit out of absolute virtue
now everyone just plays on their own
i mean, that sounds like both a good and a bad thing
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
on one hand, it's easier to get into
