I think my mental health was already compromised in this way, the politics just gave the pressure for things to start breaking, but that is my own problem.

I think that people who don't want to spend large amounts of time thinking about who they are electing should be worried about who they are electing, unless it is for a single very clear issue and even then I would not be as sure.

The real worries should be nonpartisan issues. Shit like Climate Immigration. Shit like Terrorism. Shit like Mass Surveillance.

"Climate" is crazy partisan right now, the one side thinks the world is about to end again in 10 years and they need to tax everyone because of it.

the other side doesn't think that but get called evil anyway.

Telling kids they have no future is as irresponsible as ignoring the effects of climate change.

The thing that is of concern to me is about the news cycles AND the way that we get our news. 30 years ago most people got their news from the local newspaper and local TV news coverage. Unfortunately local newspapers are disappearing, local tv coverage is often either fluff or a rehash of the networks leaving (too many) people getting their info only/mostly off the 24 news cycle
