like all of their equipment is soviet equipment
well we funded iraqi forces not their military
look into it
T-72 tanks, pkm machine guns, ak-47's lol
we were funding a coup
Actually we overwhelmingly didn't
that's kind of the point
There's tons of misinformation out there
to overthrow those who were being funded by the soviet union
We did though overthrow the iranians in a coup in 1953
bush did 9/11
9/11 did Bush
you got it backwards
"Although the CIA was not directly involved in the 1963 Ba'athist coup that ousted Abd al-Karim Qasim"
theres lots of documentation on the many activities of the CIA in Iraq
going back decades
See, the U.S. was opposed to Saddam
We were trying to stop him from getting to power
perhaps i was wrong about the specifics but
The importance is we were against him
and i find it SUSPICIOUS
to say the least
And trying to stop him from coming to power
Had we succeeded in stopping saddam a lot of lives would be saved
So yes, it was good we tried to stop him
that we retaliate to 911 which was mostly done by those from saudi arabia
not surprising really
by going into iraq which has had CIA influence for decades
9/11 was mostly coordinated by pakistan
we were against iraq
And the iraq war was only connected to 9/11 in that Saddam was housing some al-qeada terrorists, which to be honest were not that closely connected to Saddam
otherwise it was a seperate war
We actually invaded iraq before 9/11 some years prior in the persian gulf war, so you could consider it mostly seperate
i dont believe the official government story frankly
The official governmeant story more or less makes sense
For what reason would we have to support a socialist dictator
<:Doubt:588038713938804760>
maybe some kind of non-socialist one against the socialist one
But we were obviously activley engaged against Saddam
