Yup, as a retired soldier who still goes to the range to train and who has a buncha guns I completely agree.

I have been on bases a few times, and seeing the soldiers walking around with rifles doesn't bother me at all, even when they ask me to wait in a small cement room while they inspect my truck.

We’re usually quite nice until provoked, soldiers I mean. Police officers always have to expect the worse because they don’t know what situation they’re going into. And speaking as a soldier who was once an MP I can attest to both.
