Bloomberg jumped in before it was clear Biden is political dead though, at least in terms of the polls.
I guess he figured Biden was garbage, like everybody with a pulse.
I think the DNC knew Biden was going to slip, and chose to allow Bloomberg to enter so they wouldn't look desperate.
I think Bloomberg's entry was more cowboy than invite. I say that because look at his campaign. It's so overwhelming and suffocating, it's actually mostly harming Democrats.
Dems are losing operatives to the high pay Bloomberg is dishing out. It could be argued that Dems lost a race because of this suffocation.

Most of Biden's polling was artifical anyway. A lot of the Dems will just vote how told. Bernie has his own supporters.
Flip the switch on the recognised Vote Me Candidate, over to Bloomberg, and Bidens support will wither to 3%, and all those supporters will simply support him as they supported him before
It's pretty clear Bloomberg is eating Biden's support now. But seems like there's a huge brawl going on and a lot of dirt just pouring out on Bloomberg. Wonder if he can survive.

If the party nudges booty off the running, then probably
he'll survive on name recognition alone. The same reason people voted in Bush JR... they recognize the name even from the bad and will support him because they won't remember or actually care.
Or keep Booty running in order to eat up specific demographics votes, and then hand over the votes to bloomberg at a later date, whichever is more effective.

He ran as a Democrat, but later left the party, because its cancer, and just stayed an independent for the rest of his time. Even ran an election as an independent.

I understand why people were so afraid of Trump during the 2016 cycle now. With the amount of Bernie cultists who've committed low grade domestic terrorism, It gives slight credence to those peoples arguments
